Marketing and Communications

The mission of GCAC's Department of Marketing, Communications and Outreach is to encourage the practice and appreciation of the arts in Columbus and GCAC's programs, events and services through marketing and communications initiatives and to facilitate the dynamic partnership between the business and arts communities in greater Columbus.

ArtZine in 2006

GCAC's partnership with WOSU Public Media's ArtZine, a television program that showcases local arts and cultural organizations, took flight in 2006. ArtZine became an award-winning show in 2006 when it received an Emmy Award.

The monthly half hour program follows a magazine format and was officially launched in April 2005 on the WOSU stations. In addition to the added exposure each of the participating arts and cultural organizations received, they also had the opportunity to access all raw and finished video footage of their organization for their own promotional uses. The joint project employed three positions at WOSU.TV – two arts producers and a student intern – to create a cultural arts production team, focusing primarily on producing programs in the areas of performance, documentary and community profiles.
