Marketing and Communications

The mission of GCAC's Department of Marketing, Communications and Outreach is to encourage the practice and appreciation of the arts in Columbus and GCAC's programs, events and services through marketing and communications initiatives and to facilitate the dynamic partnership between the business and arts communities in greater Columbus.

Outreach for 2006

The GCAC staff and board have been proactively involved in outreach efforts to sustain and advance the quality of life while supporting and celebrating the diverse arts and cultural landscape in Columbus. Outreach for 2006 included the following:

Local – Fort Hayes Metropolitan Learning Center, Franklin County Educational Council's Christopher Program, Columbus Public Schools Career Center Development Forum, Columbus Symphony Orchestra Music Educator Awards, WBNS/Columbus Dispatch Annual Jefferson Awards, Champion of Children Awards (Columbus Montessori School), Strategies Against Violence Everywhere, United Way of Central Ohio's Race Relations Vision Council, VSA Arts of Ohio and the Downtown Development Council

State – Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, State Teacher Retirement Services, Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Parent Teachers Association and the Ohio Arts Council

National – GCAC staff assisted The Ohio State University with researching, planning, providing logistics, hosting and presenting to various audiences during both the Imagining America and the Outreach Scholarship 2006 Conference: Engagement Through the Disciplines held in Columbus in October.
