Associate Artist, Community Arts Education

Jim is a Columbus-based visual artist, painter and sculptor. He was selected as a GCAC Artists-in-Schools artist in 1988. Then, in 1992, he pioneered an arts-based after school program for inner-city youth ages 5-12 that became the pilot program for GCAC's award-winning Children of the Future. He is one of the original designers of Art for Life, an art auction that benefits the Columbus Aids Task Force, and has been a contributing artist since the first auction in 1989. In recognition of his dedication and untiring efforts to better the community through the arts, Jim has received numerous accolades including the 2004 Governor's Award for Arts in Education, the 2000 Ohio Art League's Outstanding Contributions to the Arts Award, and the Honored Artist Award from the Arts Foundation of Olde Towne.  Jim is also a 2009 Ohio Art League Centennial Anniversary Honoree, in recognition of 100 people for their outstanding contributions in support of the visual arts in Ohio.
