As program director for Community Arts Education, Tim manages out-of-school programs and partnerships (GCAC's Art in the House program, partnering with TRANSIT ARTS and the Columbus Federation of Settlements), GCAC's long-running Artists-in-Schools program, ongoing arts-in-education research projects and the Franklin County Neighborhood Arts grants program. He also manages an online arts education provider directory called ARTS CLASSifieds, and the coordination of professional development programs for K-12 arts and classroom teachers with local partner organizations.
Tim has a bachelor of arts and master's degree. Prior to joining GCAC in 1997, Tim served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer from 1984 to 1987 in Ghana, West Africa. He also worked for 18 months as the short course coordinator for the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand, and as a training consultant for the U.S. Peace Corps for two years in South Carolina and one year in Gabon, West Africa. From 1993 to 1997, Tim was the home office technical manager of a private consulting company specializing in international development projects.
Tim currently serves on the Ohio Arts Council's Arts Learning - Arts Partnership grant panel. He is also a member of the Community Arts Fund Advisory Committee for the Columbus Foundation, and serves on the boards of Ohio Dance and the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education.
