FASHION-SAVVY SHOPPERS FLOCK TO THE COLUMBUS ARTS FESTIVAL

in Press Releases May 18, 2010 1 min read

Columbus, Ohio – Fashion-savvy shoppers on the lookout for signature pieces know that the Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable June 4, 5 and 6 in downtown’s Discovery District is the perfect place to find finely crafted, one-of-a-kind, wearable works of art.

More than 40 local and national artists specializing in jewelry, leather and fabric designs will offer an eclectic assortment of apparel and accessories at a variety of prices ranges at this year’s Festival.

Searching for that perfect statement necklace? Festival goers should look to Columbus’s own Deborah Close, who specializes in working with beautiful stones and sterling silver. Or for a little bit of whimsy, check out William Wolfe and Mary DeMarco of Baltimore, MD whose nature-inspired pieces include carved Lucite, copper, enamel, glass beads and crystal accents.

Those looking for a one-of-a-kind handbag should stop to see Lori O’Neill, of Santa Rosa, CA with her textured handbags made from the finest jacquard, silk and linen fabrics and detailed with gems and semi-precious stones.

For artful leatherwork, Horace Thomas, from Belton, TX—in his fourth year at the festival—makes angular and modern leather belts and bags.

The pragmatic visitor will appreciate a longtime Festival-favorite—artisan leather sandals crafted by Dave and Vanessa Piper of San Antonio, TX.
