Artist's Narrative

Stephen Knight has studied the ancient art of magic for over twenty years, performing publicly for the first time when he was in the third grade. Since then, Knight has performed in restaurants, schools, museums and theaters throughout the United States. His mastery of magical styles ranging from close-up miracles to grand theatrical illusions allows him to connect with an audience on a unique and individual level. Over the last few years, Stephen Knight has brought a special kind of magic to thousands of students, librarians, teachers and other educators throughout Ohio: Motivational Magic. With programs highlighting important topics such as Bullying, Drugs, and the Importance of Reading, Stephen Knight combines timely and important life messages with the visual and imaginative art of magic.

RESPECT is a Magic Word (Grades K-8)

Using magic and comedy, Stephen Knight shares with students the importance of respecting others. He also educates students about the harmful effects of peer violence and bullying, and how to escape those often frightening situations. By employing fun audience participation and amazing magic, Stephen encourages students to respect one another every day.

The Just Say No Magic Show (Grades K-8)

This magical show prepares students to say "No" to drugs before they are ever pressured. Students are taught that they always have a choice in life - and that they should make good choices now so that they will continue to make good choices even when faced with peer pressure. Keys to living a drug-free life are taught through entertaining magic, clean comedy, and audience participation.

The Magic of Reading (Grades K-6)

This program encourages young people to get excited about books and reading. It highlights the knowledge found in books, and how good reading skills can open the door to a bright future. Follow-up workshops are available that allow Stephen Knight to teach students how to perform various illusions as taught in magic books.
