The arts give life to the city. Help us celebrate those who give life to the arts.

Strong partnerships between businesses, community members and the arts stimulate economic growth, promote the city’s revitalization, encourage tourism and enhance Columbus’ cultural image. The Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Community Arts Partnership awards, now in their 32nd year, recognize the community’s crucial contributions to the arts including financial support, non-cash contributions, volunteer involvement and board participation.

Support community arts educational programs for children and get noticed by civic, corporate and arts leaders.

On Thursday, October 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at COSI, the Arts Council will host civic, corporate and arts leaders for a luncheon, keynote speaker and presentation of the 2016 Community Arts Partnership awards, which will recognize three business and three individuals for outstanding support of local arts in the past year. Award categories include: Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Arts Educator, Emerging Arts Leader and the Michael B. Coleman Arts Partner.

The Arts Council will also present two annual Artistic Excellence Awards, which carries a $10,000 prize, to a local arts organization that has demonstrated risk, innovation and artistic excellence within the past year.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education‘s programming for children, including  Art in the House and Artists-in-Schools programs. To sponsor the 2016 Community Arts Partnership Awards, contact Emily Toney at (614) 221-8806 or via email. Tables and individual tickets will be on sale through the Arts Council’s website soon.

Arts Educator, Emerging Arts Leader and Arts Partner

Corporate support of the arts is invaluable. But we also want to recognize the important work that individual community members do to sustain the arts in our community. The Arts Council will solicit nominations from the public for the Arts Educator, the Emerging Arts Leader and the Arts Partner awards for individuals. Award winners, who will be honored at the luncheon event along with our business winners, will be chosen by the Arts Council’s board.
