Applications Open to Take Part in Inaugural Columbus Open Studio and Stage Event

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus Open Studio and Stage (COSS), in partnership with the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council), is seeking applications from Columbus artists to participate in the inaugural Columbus Open Studio and Stage event in October.

COSS is a two-day, juried event that will invite the public behind the scenes and into artists’ studios for an intimate look at art making practices and an opportunity to meet and talk to Columbus’ creative talent.

Visual artists (2D and 3D) are invited to apply to participate in this creative event that provides an exclusive opportunity for the public to connect with artists through a distinctive experience.

The application opens on March 22 and the deadline to apply is May 13.

To be considered the artist’s studio space must be within the I-270 boundaries and be easily accessible to the public. Artists must agree to be open to the public during both days of the event (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8-9), and provide a volunteer to assist them during event hours. Artists must also plan demonstrations, works in progress, or other engagement activities.

COSS and the Arts Council, through the Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art citywide arts marketing initiative, will provide support materials, a workshop for participating artists, sell tickets and maps and market the event to ensure that participating artists have the opportunity to engage with and connect to a large audience of art enthusiasts.

Full application requirements and a form are available at
