Greater Columbus Arts Council Welcomes New Board Members and Chair

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Greater Columbus Arts Council has welcomed four new Board of Trustees members and a new Board Chair. Drew McCartt, Karla Rothan, Julie Taggart and Amy Tillinghast join the Arts Council board, while current board member Tom Szykowny has taken over the reins as Board Chair from David Clifton.

Drew McCartt is Senior Vice President at Event Marketing Strategies. He also serves as Chair of the Central Ohio Advisory Board for the American Heart Association and Unit Committee Chair for Boy Scouts of America.

Karla Rothan has been Executive Director of Stonewall Columbus since 2006. She’s previously served with the Wexner Center for the Arts, Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging and AIDS Resource Center Ohio. She currently serves on the Recreation and Parks Commission.

Julie Taggart was appointed as the Columbus College of Art & Design Dean of the School of Studio Arts in 2012. She began her career at CCAD teaching drawing, painting and color theory in 1994, and previously served as Dean of Fine Art and Foundation Studies.

Amy Tillinghast is Vice President of Marketing at Experience Columbus, a position she’s held since 2010. She previously worked at GSW Worldwide and McGraw-Hill, and served as a board member for the Ohio Art League.

The new Board members take the place of retiring Board members Karen Bell, Kari Kauffman, Char Norman and Pam O’Grady.
