Columbus, Ohio – Join the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) for the 2013 Community Arts Partnership (CAP) awards to celebrate the strong partnerships between businesses, community members and the arts that stimulate economic growth, promote the city’s revitalization, encourage tourism and enhance Columbus’ cultural image. GCAC’s CAP awards, now in their 30th year, recognize the community’s important contributions to the arts including financial support, non-cash contributions, volunteer involvement and board participation.
On Thursday, October 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at COSI, GCAC will host civic, corporate and arts leaders for a luncheon and presentation of the 2013 CAP awards, which will recognize three business and three individuals for outstanding support of local arts in the past year. Award categories include: Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Arts Educator, Emerging Arts Leader and Arts Partner.

GCAC will also present the annual Artistic Excellence Award, which carries a $10,000 prize, to a local arts organization that has demonstrated risk, innovation and artistic excellence within the past year.
Proceeds from this event will support arts and arts education programming in the community.
