PromoWest Productions and the Greater Columbus Arts Council Announce 10 Finalists for ‘Columbus Makes Art’ Exhibition

Columbus, Ohio —The Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) and PromoWest Productions are proud to announce the 10 finalists for the 2015 Exhibition Columbus Makes Art.

The 10 finalists are: Mary Barczak, Tony Cochran, Mollie Hannon, Katarina Harris, Sarah Mitchell, Greg Stange, Jacob Thompson, Hawk Trackler, Sean P. Wang, Sierra Welch.

The 2015 exhibition theme is Columbus Makes Art to celebrate the launch of Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art, the new community-wide campaign to spotlight the city’s amazing artists and cultural events. Each design represents our city’s creative spirit and the creation of and/or engagement in Columbus culture.

Public voting is now open at promowestartexhibit.com/

One vote per person will be counted and the deadline to vote is Sept. 14 at 11:59 p.m.

The four artists with the most votes will have their work displayed on the south side of A&R Music Bar in the Arena District. Each will be paid a $500 honorarium by the Arts Council and receive recognition on the installed work.

Submissions were accepted from July through mid-August and 20 artists submitted work.  A review committee of community and Arena District business representatives selected the 10 finalists based on the criteria of: creativity, appropriateness to theme and aesthetically pleasing/general appeal.
