Alison Barret
Vice President, Grants & Community Engagement

As vice president of grants & community engagement, Alison is responsible for the strategy and oversight of GCAC’s robust suite of grants programs and resources. Alison has over 25 years of experience in Columbus community relations, grant-making, employee volunteer programming and nonprofit, board and event management. She has held leadership and critical support roles with The Limited, Big Lots, Time Warner and Experience Columbus.

Alison currently serves on the advisory board of Ashland University’s Women In Leadership executive education program and is a past board member of YWCA Columbus, Besa and Thurber House. She is an elder and Stephen Minister at Broad Street Presbyterian Church and has served on more than 25 nonprofit committees. In 2020, Alison was recognized as a YWCA Woman of Achievement.

Alison is a proud transplant from New Middletown, OH and a graduate of Youngstown State University (Go Penguins!). When not at an art event, she enjoys exploring local parks and restaurants, chilling with her chonky cat Charlie and spending time with her big family at their cabin.
