Give Big Columbus, Give Big

in Tom Katzenmeyer 1 min read

Here is my challenge to all of my friends, family, acquaintances and even complete strangers: GIVE BIG.

Tomorrow at 10 a.m. join me and make a donation via The Big Give before 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 13.

Why?

Because there is a pool of $1.3 million that will be available to boost donations received during the 24-hour Big Give sprint. Also the Foundation is covering the credit card fees—which means that 100 percent of your donations go to the organizations that you donate. Through The Big Give these important community nonprofits get more financial support than they would get if you just gave to them directly.

Of course I hope people will support Columbus’s arts organizations. I’d be remiss not to remind my friends that these organizations are an important part of our community, our identity and our economic health.

With that said, there are 630 worthy nonprofits to choose from.  Each of these organizations does something for the betterment of our community. And with a $20 minimum gift, many of us can afford to select more than one nonprofit.

It’s three easy steps

  • Starting at 10 a.m. May 12, got to columbusfoundation.org, click on The Big Give banner and choose the nonprofits you’d like to support
  • Pay on the foundation’s secure site using a major credit card.
  • Get an email receipt and enjoy the feeling of knowing you have done good for your community.

It’s really that simple.
