The exhibition, New Beginnings: From There to Here, was curated and installed by Janet George and Creative Women of Color, a collective of African American women artists whose mission is to educate, encourage, inspire and provide a creative connection with the community.
The exhibition and the murals on the front of the office that were created as part of the Black Lives Matter protests are part of the 46 days of HeART of Protest, an initiative created by the King Arts Complex and presented in partnership with collaborating arts organizations to create 46 days of artistic protest, non-sequential, to honor the 46 years of George Floyd’s life.
