Maria Ramirez
Public Art Program Coordinator

 

 

Maria Ramirez is interested in the intersection between design, creative placemaking, placekeeping and community development. She has worked collaboratively and independently in designing and implementing participatory public art projects in Los Angeles. She has worked as a facilitator, building consensus and supporting decision making processes within diverse communities, and has managed community centered streetscape and beautification projects.  She has also worked as a lecturer at The Ohio State University in the Department of Architecture.

Since 2020, Maria has served as Commissioner in the City of Worthington’s Community Relations Commission. In her spare time Maria volunteers with voter education and registration efforts. She is an avid gardener and hiker and loves exploring public art both locally and while traveling.

Maria has a BS in Architecture from The Ohio State University, and an MA in Urban Planning and MA in Architecture from UCLA.
