Applications Open for 2022 Neighborhood Arts Connection Fellowship in Linden

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Neighborhood Arts Connection fellowship supporting the Linden area, which includes both the North and South Linden communities, as defined on the Columbus Area Commission’s website.

Launched in 2021, the Neighborhood Arts Connection fellowship is designed to celebrate specific neighborhoods each year by inviting artists residing in the neighborhoods to create participatory arts experiences for the selected areas. Last year, the program focused on the South Side, while an earlier 2022 fellowship focused on the Near East Side. The Linden fellowship is supported by The Crane Group.

This opportunity is for individuals across all artistic disciplines who have permanent residency in the selected neighborhoods; are professional, working artists age 18 and older; and are not enrolled as degree-seeking undergraduate students. Award recipients must remain residents of Franklin County for the entire grant period.

For each fellowship, a selection committee consisting of neighborhood residents, community leaders and an Arts Council Board representative will select one $10,000 award recipient for a large project and one $5,000 award recipient for a small project, per neighborhood.

Applications for the Linden fellowship are due Monday, Aug. 15. Selected recipients will be notified by Aug. 30, and the projects will be completed between September 2022 and February 2023.

Complete guidelines and the link to apply are available at gcac.org/grants-services/individual-artist-fellowships/.
