Memory Fragments Synopsis
In the future, your memories will be recorded in 3D, for playback and interaction at your leisure. Until you’re murdered, of course – then your memories will become key pieces of evidence in the investigation into your death. What was the last thing you remember? Did you get a good look at your killer? Is the clue to solve your murder hiding in a tender moment with your lover? In Memory Fragments, Detective Cloud navigates this all-too-plausible vision of the future as he examines the shattered and decaying memories of a young man brutally murdered.

What might make a city haunted?
While Columbus has a rich and vibrant history, there is also a dark side to our past. In this 2-hour, walking tour, we’ll visit a number of fantastic locations through the Short North, Arena District, and Downtown. Each location has its own tale and experience. From a cold winter murder to a hot prison fire to secret tunnels under the city, Columbus is full of haunted tales. All in all, we’ll attempt to answer the question, “what might make a city haunted?”
This is not a ghost hunting tour, but is a chance to explore Columbus’ haunted past. We’ll have a great time walking and sharing stories. Join me on one of the listed dates or contact me for a customized, private tour. Those who are 21 might enjoy grabbing a drink at some of the oldest and most haunted bars in the city. VISITING FILMMAKERS: A Conversation with Filmmaker Terry Zwigoff
Venue: Wexner Center Film/Video Theater
October 16th
7:00 PM
$8.00 – $10.00
Terry Zwigoff was inspired to take up filmmaking to tell the story of the obscure blues musician Howard Armstrong. The resulting film, Louie Bluie, hinted at Zwigoff’s penchant for the esoteric and a fascination with characters-both real and fictitious-that live and work on the fringes of the mainstream. We’re thrilled to present this full retrospective as part of our 25th Anniversary Season and to host the filmmaker on October 16 for a conversation about his career, which also includes a documentary on Robert Crumb, two collaborations with cartoonist Daniel Clowes, and Bad Santa, one of the most unlikely holiday films ever made.
After Louie Bluie and his breakthrough with the landmark documentary Crumb, Terry Zwigoff has gone on to create a distinctive and unlikely career making feature films about alienated misfits. Join us for a discussion with Terry Zwigoff and Director of Film/Video David Filipi that’s punctuated by clips from Zwigoff’s films.
