ID-13 Prison Literacy Project

The ID13 Prison Literacy Project provides creative platforms for incarcerated individuals in Ohio. ID13 is dedicated to meeting participant needs through writing workshops and publication opportunities. ID13 was founded by Halle Neiderman and Christopher Dum of Kent State University in the summer of 2016. We are motivated by the philosophy that every person has the right to creative expression and their voices should never be silenced.

The Liberated Verses project showcases written work by incarcerated writers, combined with visual interpretations by Kent State University Students from the Glyphix Design Studio. We hope that this ekphrastic art collaboration inspires you to help build a world full of restoration, healing, and human connection. We thank the Farris Family Innovation Fund for their support of this collaboration and ID13’s mission.
