Khaila Carr
Coordinator, Grants & Community Engagement

Khaila Carr serves as the Grants and Community Engagement Coordinator, managing programs including Mural Assistance for Artists, Artist Projects, Project Support for Organizations and Cultural Festival Funding. Khaila joined the GCAC team in 2023, working with the general public at the reception desk and fielding a large number of emails and phone calls (with peak times during grant cycles). Alongside help from other departments, she works with local artists and curators to help facilitate exhibits within The Loann Crane Gallery. Khaila also oversees creation, editing, formatting, and posting of annual grant guidelines.

In 2018, Khaila’s dedication to art earned her a BFA in Illustration and Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art & Design. While on campus, she actively engaged in various roles, including serving as the Secretary of Student Government, as a member of the Spitball Comics Anthology 3 and 4, participating in the Honors Program, and working as an illustrator/animator for CCAD’s Student Agency.

Presently, Khaila pursues her arts career through freelancing and creating murals, designs, illustrations, and animations for clients both local and nationwide. Her art is a reflection of fantastical aesthetics, cathartic expression, and an exploration of her identity as a Queer, Filipino-American woman.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Khaila finds joy in spending time with her corgi companion, Opie, and indulges in travel, tattoos, and matcha lattes.
