Artist Workshops

This virtual workshop provides information for Round 2 of our new grant program, Artist Projects. This competitive grant provides financial support for artist creation in all disciplines and brings original, artist-led projects to life.

Open to individual artists, or groups of artists, with residency in Franklin County or a bordering county. Projects must demonstrate payment to artists involved and have a defined end result that allows the public to experience the art created.

Examples of a defined end result include performances, exhibitions, installations, festivals, locally produced films/tv series, published works, recordings, art experiences, and community events where arts are at the core.

How do I price my art? This workshop will provide some answers to this common question. In this virtual workshop, we will present pricing formulas, context for market pricing and new approaches to value assessments.

During this two-hour session explore movement-based wellness practices, such as restorative/yin yoga, somatic practices, breathwork, and meditation, with experienced and certified facilitators. Each session will include time for making connections, supporting insights, and holding inspiration.

This workshop is part of a yearlong holistic wellness program offered by GCAC and The Ohio REST Collective, which is designed to support the whole artist by offering workshops that address mental and physical wellbeing. Movement-based workshops will occur once a month and Community-Based Approaches to Rest & Wellness workshops will take place every other month.

This 90-minute session will focus on landing softly to cultivate conversation, community, rest, wellness and healing. During the session you will gain an increased understanding of the ways chronic and/or daily stress impact our ability to connect and create; and identify tools that can be used in real time to navigate and calm the stress response.

This workshop will introduce some year-end planning tips so you can set aside a bit of funds for your future… And take advantage of the related tax benefits.

As part of this workshop, we will:

• List types of retirement plans available to self-employed creative individuals.

• Estimate total to save per year for retirement.

• Define basic retirement and investment vocabulary terms.
