COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Greater Columbus Arts Council board of trustees approved $762,200 in Project Support grants at a recent board meeting. Grants were awarded to 64 nonprofit organizations. Project Support grants provide funding to Franklin County nonprofits for a broad range of arts and cultural projects, events and programs.
To review and score the grants, the Grants & Community Engagement department hosted two Community Review Days on May 30 and 31. Prior to the Community Review Days, reviewers were assigned four to five applications to read and score from home. Reviewers then came together with their respective groups to discuss and evaluate their scores in-person.
The 2024 Project Support program received several first-time applications from organizations including Young African Vision, Worthington Chamber Orchestra and Milo Arts District. Returning applicants include the OhioDance Festival, We Amplify Voices, Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC) and Hilltop Arts Collective, amongst others.
“We are thrilled to announce another stellar lineup of Project Support grantees,” said Khaila Carr, grants and community engagement coordinator at GCAC. “This selection promises a wide range of arts and cultural experiences, each bringing a unique perspective to members of the arts community.”
