The Greater Columbus Arts Council aims to connect individual artists and arts organizations to opportunities and to each other. One way we do this is by populating this section of our website with information on various internal and external opportunities. These opportunities are shared broadly through our monthly OPPArt newsletter. In addition, we offer free professional development workshop series, round-table discussions, and social events.

Description: Looking for musicians for three major performance stages to round out Columbus’ favorite outdoor summer event (main, acoustic, local).
Show Dates: 6/12/20-6/14/20. No fee to apply.

Three (3) audio tracks and one (1) video link will be required with your application.

Name: Merriweather District Artist-in-Residence
Organization: Howard County Arts Council (Maryland)
Description: Up to four artists or teams will be selected from submitted entries and provided with a stipend of $12,000 each to spend six weeks, from May 18 – June 30, 2020, creating a work of art in a medium of their choosing:

Contemporary Art x Technology Artist (3 Artists):
The MD AIR program will select up to three artists who specifically produce work that integrate art, innovation and technology. The highest priority will be given to artists who work within this medium.

Music x Technology Artist (1 Artist):
MD AIR has expanded the program in 2020 to include a new and 4th residency position that is sponsored by the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission (DCACC) and Soulful Symphony. The artist selected for this position will have studio space with the three artists, as well as, the opportunity for mentorship and collaboration with Darin Atwater, the Artist Director of DCACC and founder of Soulful Symphony.

The Associate Director researches organizational funding opportunities, prepares proposals and reports for submission to funders, stewards CFR donors, manages departmental workflow, and works with the Chief Advancement Officer on fundraising/stewardship strategy. The Associate Director will develop a strong understanding of the Wex’s programs, strategic plan, and fundraising priorities. The Associate Director will work closely with the CAO, Wex staff, and development colleagues in OSU Advancement to identify and solicit organizational philanthropic support.

The aim of the role is to actively manage a portfolio of prospective donors to be asked for gifts of $100,000 and above. Preparation for the ‘ask’ will include creative and strategic utilization of resources to determine the prospective donor’s capacity for giving, build their interest, raise their sights, sustain their engagement and obtain a gift. Success in the position will be guided by annual metrics such as number of monthly meetings, number of gift commitments, and dollars raised. Central resources such as a robust donor database, and reporting and analytics tools exist to help the role achieve goals and manage an allocated budget. Expectations include stellar communications and interactions with constituents, collaboration with colleagues across Advancement and the university and Wexner Medical Center, diplomacy, and discretion. This role requires frequent workweek travel including approximately one or two overnight trips per month and regular in-state travel.
