Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to our online exhibit, GETAWAY.

ENTRY FEE
$25 for first entry/$10 for each additional entry. You may enter up to 20 total. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. For 3D work, there is no need to pay for additional entries for detail shots. Once your first entry is made, you may send additional views by email to hello@art-fluent.com.

ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that has been selected for previous exhibits with Art Fluent will not be considered.

RULES
Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Open to ALL fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, ceramics, film/video, digital art). AI will not be accepted. Diptychs and triptychs should be uploaded as a single image.

SELECTION PROCESS
Director’s choice. Each show is curated and juried by Creative Director, Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. Please note, there is no personal feedback given by jurors.


ENTRY PROCEDURE
Entry is done through CaFÉ, a web-based service that allows artists to upload images and organize their artwork for submissions to galleries. To apply for a call, you must leave our website and go to the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org where you can create a FREE artist account. You will add your details and upload your images to CaFÉ and then you can submit work to GETAWAY. If you have any questions, please contact us at hello@art-fluent.com we are happy to walk you through the process.

MEDIA PREPARATION
Please only submit properly cropped images of your work that are in focus. We have a free resource for artists for tips on how to get high quality images of your work. Visit www.art-fluent.com/resources for a free download. CaFÉ also offers tips on their blog which you can find here www.callforentry.org/photographing-artwork/.
All images must be in JPEG/JPG format using CaFÉ guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. Maximum file size is 5 mb.
Accepted video formats include MOV, MP4, WMV. Aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9, resolution minimum 640x480, maximum 1920 x1080, bit rate recommended above 240 kbps, recommended frame rate 30 fps. File size must be under 100 MB. If your video work has been selected for the exhibit, we kindly request that you provide us with the file link via Vimeo. Please ensure the linked video is set to be shared publicly. Your video will not play if it is set to private.

NOTIFICATION
Notification will be done by email, everyone who submits will be notified of the juror’s selections. If for any reason you do not hear from us by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account. Notification emails are sent to the email on file with CaFÉ.

SALES
All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist’s website and/or contact information. For any artwork that is sold, the artists receive 100% of the sale.

GIVING BACK
A portion of the proceeds from the entry fees is donated to organizations committed to the arts and supporting artists.

REQUIRED FORMS
Cash awards over $600 are subject to federal income tax withholding within the United States. A W-9 form must be filled out by the winner and submitted to Art Fluent, Inc.

REGULATIONS
By entering our calls for art through CaFÉ you are agreeing to be added to Art Fluent's email list for forthcoming artist opportunities. By submitting images, you agree that the images are your own work, nothing copied, you own all rights to the images, and you take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals. The actual artwork will remain the property of the artist, our mission is to promote artists and their work. Should your work be accepted, you grant Art Fluent the right to reproduce your image on our website, on social media, and where appropriate to help promote further online opportunities. Art Fluent will always credit you and your copyright wherever feasible. We will not use your image for any other purpose without the artist’s permission.

CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the International Exhibition, “Text-ure 2025” We are open to photography, 2D digital art, video art, interactive art, drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures, and installation art dealing with subjects on text, context, texture, and tactility.

Selected works will be printed in 10×15 inches, framed, and installed by our curators & assistants. If requested by the artist, works can be printed and framed in larger sizes. Additional fees may apply.

We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screened through a projector. If the work is required to be screened through a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. Additional fees may apply.

-Painting, Sculpture, & Installation Art
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her physical work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. The two-dimensional work should be no larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, and the installation piece should be no larger than 39x39x79 inches (1 x 1 x 2 m, w x l x h). The work that needs to be mounted on the wall should not exceed 10 kg. Please indicate in the submission email if you are interested in exhibiting works exceeding the size/weight limit.

The DECARTS Gallery is pleased to announce a juried decorative arts online exhibition, In the Heart of Life.

All artists 18 and older from US, Canada, and Mexico are encouraged to submit their work in any medium, style, and genre.

Kinhouse seeks to support emerging artists with this meaningful opportunity to have a solo exhibition! Filling a gallery full of work you made is such an impactful step in an artists career.

The selected artist will receive a supported solo show experience from beginning to end.

This includes:
- mentorship and support leading up to the exhibition
- a week long stay at Kinhouse Artist Residency in Fort Wayne, IN (the week of the exhibition opening)
- installation support at the exhibition
- 1 month solo exhibition at our gallery
- promotion and marketing of your artwork
- an opening reception on Friday, February 7th, 2025

For this show we are asking artists to submit a proposal for a monumental solo experience. Whether you are an artist who has not yet had your first solo show, or someone who is looking for a place to facilitate a project or new body of work, we’d love to see your ideas!

We recognize that are careers are full of milestone events and working towards your first (or an early career) solo show is a big one! Whether you are selected to show with us for this show or not, we hope this opportunity empowers you to put together a strong proposal and find a place to exhibit your work in 2025.

We welcome submissions from persons of all genders and backgrounds. Work may be submitted in a proposed form (not yet finished).

Residency dates are firm: Monday, February 3rd through - Sunday Feb 9th 2025
Exhibition opening will take place: Friday evening, February 7th, 2025

For the purposes of this process a “proposal” may include completed works, work in progress, or art ideas waiting to be developed. Fees are non-refundable. All art mediums are accepted for consideration.

Playwrights may submit up to TWO scripts for consideration. We accept one-act and full-length plays.

Each script must conform to the tenets of the Natural Theatre. Please refer to the "What is the Natural Theatre?" page when considering a submission. The playwright may also submit a statement explaining how the play conforms to the tenets of the Natural Theatre, although this is optional. The plays should speak for themselves!

Event: Call for Entries! 2024 Rosewood Arts Center Annual Print Exchange

Due Date: Must be received by November 8, 2024

Eligibility: Open to all Artists working in archival print mediums. Outside paper dimensions of 5” x 7”. Any Archival process is acceptable. Prints that are not 5” x 7” and photo reproductions of original artwork are not permitted.

Edition Size: Ten identical prints, each one signed, dated and numbered 1/10-10/10. Networking information can be included on the reverse side of your print e.g. : contact information, Instagram handle, website. Interleave all prints with tissue or glassine paper prior to shipping.

Entry Fee: $15/non-students, $10/students. We accept payment by check made out to “The City of Kettering” via mail OR credit card by phone (937-296-0294). Please send a copy of your receipt with your edition.

Urban Arts Space is now open for project proposals! We’re seeking projects for 2025–2026 to showcase at our downtown Columbus gallery at 50 W Town Street, Hopkins Hall Gallery on Ohio State campus, or UAS Online. Projects could include gallery exhibitions, performances, audience participatory work, discussions, research demos, and more.

A few considerations that will make for a stronger proposal:

+ For exhibitions, we're looking for shows running five weeks or longer.

+ We’re especially interested in projects with community programming components, such as artist talks, panels, workshops, and collaborations with community partners and nonprofits.

+ Projects should address Urban Arts Space’s mission of challenging perceptions, deepening learning, and increasing access to the arts.

+ While solo proposals will be considered, applicants are encouraged to collaborate and emphasize ideas that foster conversations representing diverse perspectives.

+ Artists must have ties to Ohio, whether they are artists who live and work in Ohio, students (undergraduate or graduate) attending university in Ohio, alumni of Ohio State, or curators based in Ohio bringing in outside artists on a national or international scale.

The Salt Lick Incubator is a nonprofit organization that supports emerging musicians on their path to sustainable careers. Our project grants range from $5,000 to $15,000 and are awarded to musicians performing in songful, contemporary genres to use for projects such as producing a song or album, producing a music video, developing social media assets, pressing vinyl, touring, or developing branding and marketing assets and strategies.
Grant recipients receive guidance from industry professionals.

The Hopper Prize is now accepting entries for our Fall 2024 artist grants.

We are offering $3,500 and $1,000 grants to artists & photographers around the world.

For this open call, we will be providing 6 grants totaling $11,000 USD.

2 artists will each receive $3,500 and 4 artists will each receive $1,000.

This is an open call, all media eligible.

Through fellowships to published translators, the National Endowment for the Arts supports projects for the translation of specific works of prose, poetry, or drama from other languages into English.

Too Close Reading: Flash Fiction, Asceticism and Pleasure

This year’s OSU Zacher Lecture in the Humanities will feature Merve Emre, writer for "The New Yorker," "The Atlantic" and more. She’ll discuss “miniaturism,” also known as "flash fiction" or "the short-short story." This emerges as an aesthetic strategy for focusing on the disciplined study of grammar over figuration. In this genre, grammar often is inseparable from gender, and gender is inseparable from forms of literary labor that are regularly trivialized, devalued and rendered invisible. Through the promotion of too close reading, or reading at the smallest scale possible, miniaturism reveals the unappreciated relationship between literary asceticism and literary pleasure.
