COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Greater Columbus Arts Council is proud to partner for a third year with ArtPop Street Gallery, Lamar Outdoor, City Solutions and the Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art campaign. ArtPop Cbus will shine the spotlight on Columbus’ talented artists by placing their work on available billboards throughout Franklin County. Columbus artists working in all media are invited to submit artwork for consideration and possible display on one of five available billboards circulating the region in 2019 as well as five newsstands in Downtown Columbus.

ArtPop is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works with arts organizations, philanthropists that support the arts and media companies across the country to promote artists, give them a voice, create public street galleries and energize residents’ commutes. To date, ArtPop has provided a platform of advertising to 297 artists in 14 cities nationwide since 2014. Art + Public Outdoor Project = ArtPop Street Gallery. Five pieces of artwork will be selected by the ArtPop Cbus selection committee in a blind jury process. The selection committee is comprised of representatives from the Arts Council, ArtPop, alum ArtPop artist(s), Lamar and two at-large community members. Selected artwork will be displayed on billboards owned and managed by Lamar Outdoor throughout the Franklin County area for up to one year, along with newsstands in Downtown Columbus with City Solutions.

ArtPop Cbus is open to artists 18 years of age or older living in Franklin County who have an active artist website. The submitted artwork must be original art created by the submitting artist within the past three years. Previously selected artists must wait three years before applying again.

The call for submissions opens Feb. 4 and submissions are due by March 4 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced by Mar. 15. Full details and submission forms are available at columbusmakesart.com/artpop.
