COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) will open the newest exhibition in its community meeting room and gallery, Entangled Threads, on Friday, May 14.
Organized by the King Arts Complex and curated by Lyn Logan-Grimes, the exhibition features five Columbus-area fiber artists whose work is a unique representation of creative experimentation that manipulates line, color, form, shape, space, value and texture. The work is bold and illustrates common societal connections and speaks of narratives centered around aesthetic, identity and contemporary culture.
Artists in the exhibition include: Don “DonCee” Coulter, Wendy Kendrick, Marge May, Carolyn Ready and Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart. The work is available for sale.
The exhibition will be up through Sept. 2. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors must wear masks and comply with social distancing guidelines; there will be a limit of four people in the gallery at any time.
The featured artwork will also be available virtually through the gallery website at gcacgallery.org.
The Arts Council moved to its new office at 182 E. Long St. in the spring of 2020. Exhibitions in its gallery space are focused on showcasing work by artists from historically marginalized communities.
