Columbus, Ohio – The Greater Columbus Arts Council Board of Trustees today approved 22 grants totaling $2,005,000 in Operating Support, funds which GCAC receives from the City of Columbus through the hotel motel bed tax.

“These 22 organizations are critical to our community’s cultural health and vitality,” said Milt Baughman, Interim President of GCAC. “And in turn the Operating Support provided by GCAC is an essential part of their ability to provide high quality arts experiences to Central Ohio’s citizens.”

Under the grants guidelines, any nonprofit arts organization of any budget size that meets the eligibility criteria can qualify for unrestricted Operating Support funding. Applicants must demonstrate exemplary artistic achievement and significant impact on the city’s economy and tourism, as well as strong fiscal responsibility.
