Greater Columbus Arts Council Awards First Quarter Project Support and Artists in the Community Grants

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eighteen grants totaling $199,153 were approved by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) Board of Trustees for the first round of 2017 Project Support grants. Additionally the Board approved 17 BOOST grants totaling $72,315.

Various performances, exhibitions and festivals will occur throughout Columbus and will include the Columbus Children’s Choir and its 22nd annual season, the Summer Jam West Festival on the Hilltop July 8, the Evolution Theatre Company’s 2017 season of five innovative productions and Crossing Borders, a unique exhibition of traveling art and a documentary film depicting the stories of refugees who have settled in Columbus.

Project Support: Project Support grants provide funding for the numerous short-term cultural activities that give Columbus its vitality. The Arts Council awarded $199,153 in Project Support grants to the following organizations and projects:

BOOST: BOOST is a capacity-building program supporting the governance, leadership, technology and professional development needs of non-profit arts and culture organizations. The Arts Council awarded $72,315 in BOOST grants to the following organizations and projects:
