Columbus, Ohio—The Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) board of trustees today approved 26 grants totaling $2,848,003 in Operating Support funds, which the Arts Council receives from the City of Columbus through the hotel/motel bed tax.
“In 2015 we implemented a scoring module for our Operating Support program, the goal being to raise the accountability of our grants process and increase equity in funding across the community,” said Tom Katzenmeyer, president of the Arts Council. “As always, we are grateful for the continued support from the City of Columbus, Mayor Michael B. Coleman and Columbus City Council, allowing us to invest in these important program areas supporting artists and organizations.”
Under the grants guidelines, nonprofit arts organizations of any budget size that meet the eligibility criteria can qualify for unrestricted Operating Support funding.
