Greater Columbus Arts Council Awards Second Quarter Project Support Grants

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Twenty-three grants totaling $264,593 were approved by the Greater Columbus Arts Council Board of Trustees for the second round of 2017 Project Support grants.

This slate of awardees represents eight artistic disciplines and includes eight first-time applicants. GCAC’s support will bring a variety of art experiences to our community, including festivals such as Columbus GospelFest/DisabilitiesFest (July 29), South Asian Theater Festival (August 19) and Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (September 28 – October 1). Alternative Fashion Week begins July 8, Stage Right Theatrics will produce The Anarchist July 1 and 2, and a portion of works from The Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center, one of the largest black art collections in the United States, will be shared through several Columbus venues August 22–November 4.

Project Support: Project Support grants provide funding for the numerous short-term cultural activities that give Columbus its vitality. The Arts Council awarded $264,593 in Project Support grants to the following organizations and projects:
