Greater Columbus Arts Council Releases 2022 Grants Programs Guidelines

in Press Releases January 4, 2022 2 min read

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) has released guidelines for its 2022 grants programs, which offer financial support and resources to the city’s artists and arts organizations. The comprehensive grants guidelines (available online at gcac.org) detail grant programs and application processes, and have been updated for easier navigation.

The first 2022 grant application deadline is Feb. 1 for the Support for Professional Artists – Round 1 (Individuals and Band/Ensemble) program.

The Arts Council continues to enact changes based on funding, process reviews and constituent feedback, all the while ensuring public dollars are being invested in well-managed, sustainable and innovative organizations and projects. It will also continue its community outreach while making itself available to artists, arts organizations and neighborhoods, holding fast to its commitment to reducing barriers and fostering equity. The Arts Council offers special accommodations, when requested, such as interpreters, assistance for those with disabilities, guidance calls and draft reviews for Project Support and Support for Professional Artist grants. Once it is safe to do so, the Arts Council will make its on-site computer lab available to those submitting applications that need access to technology.

New this year is the General Support grant program, designed to provide a stable source of financial support for established small- to mid-sized Columbus arts organizations with an annual operating budget under $500,000, putting on a full season of public activities. There is a pre-qualification process requiring materials to be submitted by March 1 for review and invitation to complete application for this program.
