in Press Releases November 11, 2010 1 min read

Columbus, Ohio – The 50th annual Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable is now accepting visual artist applications for the 2011 event, which will take place June 3, 4 & 5 in the Discovery District downtown.

In addition to our artist application which is open to national and international exhibitors, the Columbus Arts Festival is now offering a separate application to local artists who are new to exhibiting at art fairs through GCAC’s new Emerging Artists program. The Emerging Artist program is designed specifically for artists who have extremely limited or no experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at outdoor venues. Artists who apply in this category must be residents of Franklin or surrounding counties in Ohio which include Union, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Pickaway, Fayette and Madison. Applications for both categories are due by January 12, 2011.

The Columbus Arts Festival, produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, will celebrate its 50th year of bringing the best in fine art and fine craft to Columbus. The Festival hosts hundreds of juried artists from across the United States, as well as a few international artists each year. Music, poetry and community performance stages, hands-on arts activities for the entire family, exhibitions of local student artwork and quality food and beverages round out Columbus’ favorite outdoor summer event.

To apply, visit www.columbusartsfestival.org and click on the “Apply” link on the left side of the screen. Applicants can also go directly to www.zapplication.org to apply through our online system, ZAPP™, a universal application that allows artists to submit and manage materials for hundreds of participating arts shows, festivals and fairs.  Contact Amanda Teague, Festival coordiator at ateague@gcac.org with questions.
