Workshop name: Ceramic Workshop – Exploring Pots and Molds
Hosted by: Columbus Cultural Arts Center
Description: Exploring Pots and Molds
with North Carolina Artist Mark Arnold
June 24-28, 2019 | 9 am - 4 pm
$375.00 per person

In this workshop, participants will create molds to be used in combination with wheel thrown and hand built forms made of clay. Using press molds made of wood and plaster, the wheel will be used as a tool to assemble the pieces. Participants will explore a variety of utilitarian forms, from cups to vases, and discuss how to use carving and inlay as surface decoration to make each piece unique. Limited space available.

Description: Level Your Seat: Advanced Setting
with Cincinnati artist Bethany James
June 24-28, 2019 | 9 am - 4 pm

During this workshop, students will fabricate, carve, and assemble seats using traditional stone setting methods. Packed with planned projects and plenty of practice, you will learn everything from how to successfully prong set, flush set, strip set, channel set, and pavé to how to work with gravers and bur control. Tips, tricks, and alternative methods will also be covered. Students must have soldering, sawing, and metal smithing experience. Limited space available.
