A Fiscal Sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides financial oversight & management, and other administrative services for projects. Definition adapted from Council of Nonprofits. Artists and groups of artists may use a Fiscal Sponsor to apply for GCAC Project Support.

Film Columbus and Cleveland-based Gravitas Ventures look at Columbus-based filmmaker Jon Sherman’s latest project, They/Them/Us, and uses it as a case study for how distribution works in the current environment.  Bill Guentzler from Gravitas Ventures will be joining as the expert in distribution. Bill is currently the Senior Director of Acquisitions of Gravitas.

Distribution can be implemented in what seems like a million different ways. Jon will talk about how he did it and why he decided to go with Gravitas for the distribution of his feature film.

Workshop name: Adult Writing Workshop | Approach It Like Triage
Hosted by: Thurber House
Description: When writers reach the wonderful, celebratory goal of completing a manuscript, they often look at the pile of pages and wonder "what next?" As you receive feedback, do you wonder which suggestions to take? Which to ignore? The process of figuring out how to improve the story can feel overwhelming. This session will give guidance for the revision process, using a "triage" approach to design an order of tasks. Katrina will share easy, practical guidelines and checklists for approaching changes both big and small in your work. We’ll also discuss how to find good, trusted readers, and the pros and cons of writing groups. NOTE: you do NOT have to have a completed manuscript to take or benefit from this class.
